Education Requirements: Two-year business degree or related discipline; or the equivalent combination of training and related experience.  Candidate should have the knowledge and ability to apply resource monitoring & computer scheduling techniques.

Position Summary: Assists Managers of Construction in creating successful project teams on a nationwide scale for a variety of owners by compiling confidential resource assignment schedules in conjunction with personnel skill sets, performance levels, availability, education, place of residency and employee interests. Maintain and monitor employee MVR statuses and report details to all Projects bi-weekly. This position is highly technical and prepares and maintains the resource scheduling system via the appropriate software

Essential Job Functions

  1. Works with operations management to determine necessary staffing requirements for each construction site and builds and maintains computerized construction staffing schedule to help facilitate staffing discussions in order to build the most successful project teams. 
  2. Coordinate, review, and regularly update computerized schedule to reflect current and forecasted construction requirements to assist managers in accurately identifying the best skilled teams based on construction project duration, employee availability, skill sets, performance level, education, place of residency, and employee interests.
  3. Develops meeting agenda and other necessary tools to support management in resource scheduling discussions.  Facilitates scheduling meetings, which include e-conferences; and acts as a collection point for all labor resource planning and scheduling activities.
  4. Interacts with multiple team members e.g., jobsite superintendents and project managers, to confirm project durations and employee availability.  Collaborates with senior construction managers, human resources and others to provide advice and guidance to management regarding team selection to help achieve the optimum team performance.
  5. Links labor resources schedule to equipment resources schedule when necessary to monitor labor availability against equipment (e.g. crane) availability.
  6. Perform bi-weekly MVR checks, review results, determine driver statuses thru interaction with appropriate committee members, maintain current records in JD Edwards system, and reports results to all Projects weekly.
  7. Maintain Staffing Projections and Turnover Rates monthly. Compile and update Energy Sector Revenue Reports (Project Scenario Report and Energy Sector Report) on a bi-monthly basis.
  8. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

     

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be computer literate – Expert in Microsoft Excel, and 1 year experience (preferably in a construction environment) with planning and scheduling software and techniques
  • Strong organizational skills and be intuitive to the staffing needs of the company.
  • Must be able to work in a very dynamic environment with constant changes.
  • Must have strong oral communication skills, and be detailed orientated.
  • Must have an understanding of construction terms and project sequencing.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with others.
  • Occasional travel required.
