Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Security or related Technology degree with an emphasis in data or infrastructure security.


Experience: At least 5 years in a Security Analyst role or other Information Technology role supporting and securing servers, desktops, mobile devices and network nodes.                                   

Position Summary:  Reviews and secures current company data and infrastructure.  This will include reviewing current applications, infrastructure, tools and processes.  Works with the IT team and business to create a security readiness plan and is responsible for testing the plan.  This position will also work with end users to educate them on the importance of being secure in their everyday use of technology.


Primary Job Functions

  1. Develops and manages information security awareness, policies, and training initiatives to educate workforce about information risks.
  2. Drives the implementation of published IT Security Standards by managing tasks and activities to assess, document, mitigate, and communicate compliance status of published controls.
  3. Conducts application and hardware risk assessments with vendors, IT, and employees following a standardized process to document, communicate, assess and mitigate IT security risks to the company.
  4. Monitors company security posture internally and externally, acting on threats.
  5. Writes security requirement specifications according to existing IT Security Standards that are easily understood by end users.
  6. Ensures IT Security requirements within IT project lifecycles are being met.
  7. Leads in person and phone meetings with vendors and company stakeholders to conduct IT Security risk assessments. Must be able to clearly communicate security requirements and extract required vendor and business information required to complete assessments.
  8. Leads and coordinates security incident response efforts to prevent and contain any known security threats.
  9. Manages and tunes all security applications to ensure alerting, monitoring, and appropriate action items are in place to secure company assets.
  10. Reviews all required vendor patches making recommendations on criticality and ensures IT and the business knows the impact of deploying such patches.
  11. Stays current on industry security standards and communicates back to management on trends.


Additional Job Functions

  1. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
  2. Identifies opportunities for streamlining work and reducing waste in order to improve efficiency.
  3. Occasional travel may be required for security training and site support.
  4. In order to meet our customers security needs, early morning, late evenings and weekend shift hours maybe required for this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Passion for technology and desire to help users securely use technology while limiting complexity.
  • Understanding of tools such as: MDM, Cisco ISE, Umbrella, Intrusion Detection, Microsoft ATP, SCCM, Shavlik and other software/OS management tools.
  • Ability to comprehend complex network architectures.
  • Strong customer service focus and communication skills, with ability to convey technical directions in a way end user can understand and perform.
  • Must have the ability to keep information confidential.
