Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or relevant field.  

Experience Required: Three years business analytics experience.

Position Summary:  A key resource for the Company by developing reports, data models, and dashboards for decision making; and monitors performance across Risk Management and the impact on the organizational key strategies.  This will be done by using superb analytical skills, being able to transform business data into useful, effective and understandable information, to drive decisions and business strategy.     

Primary Job Functions 

  1. Creates and maintains BI/Dashboards and reports; and Instruct others how to interpret and utilize the department data, reports and dashboards.
  2. Provides creative analysis to support alternatives and recommendations on how to reduce incident rates and exposures to improve the safety performance of the company.
  3. Develops useful dashboards and reports to support company decision making at all levels – Corporate, Operations, C.A.T.S. Steering Committee and Support Departments.
  4. Interprets data to give both Operations, Risk Management and the C.A.T.S. Steering Committee insight into our safety performance and areas for improvement.
  5. Develops, implements and maintains effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of the Company’s market sectors and segments safety performance.
  6. Develops and maintains analytical tools utilizing data to identify opportunities for improvement
  7. Develops Risk Management Key Performance Indicators at various levels.
  8. Understands corporate goals, strategy and objectives and delivers department centric analytics that support goals.
  9. Creates and deliver insightful information in an understandable format.
  10. Identifies and addresses errors in data and works with IT to correct data errors.
  11. Completes ad hoc analysis as requested by management.

Additional Job Functions 

  1. Works with the Risk Management Systems Administrator to identify opportunities for streamlining work and reducing waste in order to improve efficiency.
  2. Represents Risk Management as a SME on the data governance and warehouse committees.
  3. Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Demonstrated history of a “can do” attitude of handling multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results accurately and on time.
  • Ability to become proficient with the company’s BI/Dashboard and reporting software.
  • Working knowledge on defining data standards and data technical requirements on behalf of the business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), and ERP software experience a plus.
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentational).
  • Superior attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient skills in prioritizing, organizing, being a self-starter and working independently.
  • Must have the ability to keep information confidential.
  • This position requires occasional travel required to projects sites, therefore the position requires a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
