HRIS Analyst

Reports to:  Talent Acquisition Manager

Benefit Classification: Salary Exempt

Education Requirements: Four-year Human Resources Management or related degree, or related discipline or equivalent education and HR experience. 

Experience: Two years of HR experience, preferably working in HRIS or Recruiting. Previous Workday experience a plus.

Position Summary: The HRIS Analyst is responsible for providing support for Blattner Company’s HR information system, including management of recurring HR system related tasks as well as issue analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation of simple to moderately complex solutions.  This will be done by using superb analytical skills to understand the capabilities of the HR information system, company business processes, and current system setup.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Analyzes, recommends, designs, configures, tests, and implements simple to moderately complex new functional and break/fix solutions for assigned HR products (e.g. HCM, recruiting, payroll, benefits, compensation), leveraging an agile methodology.
  2. Manages recurring and ad hoc tasks/requests within Blattner Company’s HR information systems, including updates to supervisory orgs, cost centers, business process administration, and various Workday inbox tasks.
  3. Participates in cross-functional HR projects and initiatives as the HRIS application owner for assigned HR products.
  4. Administers role and user-based security for Blattner Company’s HR information systems.
  5. Maintains process documentation for HR information system(s).
  6. Provides a strategic and operational focus on HR and Payroll systems by initiating and supporting business process improvements and efficiencies/LEAN related to the HRIS system. Utilizes the HRIS system to eliminate administrative tasks, improve functionality, empower employees to ensure HR teams are utilizing the HRIS system to the greatest extent possible.  
  7. Serves as a subject matter expert for system related issues including researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; and provides solutions to meet requirements.  Works with Delivery Team and business users to modify the system or existing business processes as needed.
  8. Works with external vendors and service providers to insure the efficient, accurate and timely exchange of information; vets potential vendors for abilities to meet business needs.
  9. Participates in Workday User Communities to stay informed on future releases, functionalities of new releases and enhancements. 
  10. Collaborates with Delivery Team members using an Agile mindset where work is broken into smaller “chunk” stories, prioritized, and delivered in a consistent 2-week Sprint cadence using Agile ceremonies.  Will work closely with the Product Owner in this capacity to ensure substance of stories align with business area needs.
