Education Requirements: Four-year degree in business management, psychology, or communications; or equivalent combinations of education and enterprise change management experience. 

Experience: 5 years’ experience in a change management role, preferably in change management, organizational development, and/or product owner). Experience and knowledge of change management principles, frameworks and methodologies (I.e. Prosci certification). Experience with ADKAR is a plus.

Position Summary: Plays a key role in helping products (change initiatives) meet business, schedule and budget objectives through a key focus on the people side of change - including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. The primary focus will be creating and implementing change management frameworks that minimize employee resistance and maximizes employee engagement. The Change Management Lead role includes the role as a coach or a mentor for the organization to implement change. Performs the role of a coach or mentor for leaders of the organization to assist them in fulfilling their role as change sponsors for their respective departments and teams. The Change Management Lead will also engage with key product teams to help them integrate their deliverables with crucial change management initiatives undertaken by the organization.  This person will have to work though many others in the organization to succeed. Finally, the Change Management Lead may provide direct support and coaching to front-line supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Responsible for the attention to the people side of change. Creates a structured change management implementation strategy so that there is consistency in adopting change for every employee, every product team and every department.
  2. Identifies the most expected and potential points of resistance to change. Develops counter strategies to reduce resistance and addresses the doubts and uncertainty surrounding the change to foster a positive acceptance of change.
  3. Creates specific change management plans with respect to training and orientation of employees. Responsible for the training path of least resistance to change and the maximum utilization of the new initiatives for the company.
  4. Works with Communications, Learning and Development, HR, and IT in the formulation of plans and activities to support product feature rollouts.
  5. Develops a set of actionable and targeted change management plans - including a communication plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan and resistance management plan.
  6. Establishes key performance outcomes to measure the early adoption, effective utilization and proficiency to new change initiatives for individual employees as well as groups or departments.
  7. Conducts readiness assessments, evaluating results and presenting findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner.
  8. Supports the execution of plans by employee-facing managers and business leaders.
  9. Acts as a visible coach to executives and leaders who are change sponsors.
  10. Creates and manages measurement systems to track adoption, utilization and proficiency of individual changes.
  11. Identifies deviations in performance from the change standards and implement strategies for corrective action to achieve full organizational adoption to change.
  12. Creates and enables reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success.
  13. Works with Product Owners to integrate change management activities into the overall product roadmap.
  14. Maintains a close engagement with specialists from the HR, Learning and Development, IT and communication departments to ensure a smooth transition to change and organization-wide successful implementation of change initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology, tools and phases of the product lifecycle.
