Education Requirements: Two-year related degree; or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Experience: Previous industrial or commercial construction experience preferred.

Position Summary: The Site Inventory Specialist collaborates with the Project Team to support all inventory management activities associated with equipment, incorporated material, consumables, tools & rigging, and other construction supplies. Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the SIS will work with Trade Superintendents, Field Construction Coordinators, and the Avon Supply Chain Dept. to learn and understand the inventory concerns of multiple work disciplines and help ensure that all inventory materials are ordered, properly received and stored, and made available for installation to support the construction schedule.  Along with supporting of inventory transfers per the site teams request.

Essential Job Functions

1. Gains and maintains a comprehensive understanding of Blattner Energy’s Supply Chain Dept. and Inventory Management processes. Serve as primary liaison between the field and the Avon Supply Chain Dept. regarding inventory matters. Provides training to the site team regarding Purchasing and Inventory Management processes.
2.  Initiates and tracks material orders through ProjectAMP, DSI, Supplier Share Points, transportation company websites, etc.
3. Provides detailed information for Site Access documents.
4. Generates and processes Field and Purchase Requisitions, Inventory Receiving Reports, Site Storage Location Maps, inventory lists, delivery exception reports (OS&Ds, NCRs), and Warranty Claims.
5. Coordinates and schedules inventory deliveries with truck drivers and transportation companies and communicates and coordinates deliveries with Offload crews. Provides guidance to Offload crews regarding procedures for inventory receipt inspection , storage and staging, and collection of flow of shipping documentation.
6. Implements and coordinates site inventory plan in conjunction with Trade Superintendents.
7. Monitors Equipment Status Reports and works with Project Team and Avon Supply Chain Dept. to mitigate concerns due to schedule deviations of critical path items and contributes appropriate aspects of inventory status to Plan of the Day.
8. Follows appropriate protocols for communication with Suppliers and Owners, with guidance from Avon Supply Chain Dept.
9. Works with Risk Management on DOT and IFTA license to assure they are current.
10. Assists with site team on inventory budget in Project AMP/SSRS reports. and monitors budget vs. committed costs.
11. Assists in the compilation of documentation associated with incorporated material as required by the Owner (receiving logs, mill certs, test reports, cut sheets, etc.) for eventual turnover in the Job Book.
12. Responsible for equipment walk arounds, oil charts and idle time: Trains employees on walk around process, and tracks walk arounds for errors. Follows up with operators that are creating errors, responsible for oil chart and idle time, and ensures the proper people are getting the information; and handles 20001 reporting and Equipment Map. Creates trade specific equipment reports that analyze cost code accuracy and underutilization. Communicates with all Trades on anniversary dates and verifies equipment coding is in line with Cost Warrior & Lean Metrics.
13. Works with mechanic on site to assure Preventative Maintenance and repairs are scheduled.
14. Assists with final inventory transfers and jobsite closeout activities.

Additional Job Functions

1. Generates and distributes additional inventory reports and documentation as requested by Project Team members to support the payment of supplier invoices via Textura or Pay Applications.
2. Conducts physical inventories when required.
3. Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of Purchasing and Material Management processes.
• Proficient in the use of various elements of the ProjectAMP Procurement module, including Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Purchase Contracts, Owner Supplied, Receiving, transfers, OS&D, and Reports.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
• Accounting (math and record-keeping).
• Ability to give presentations to groups of up to 10 people.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Visio, and ProjectAMP.
• Effective communication (oral, written, presentation), motivation, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
• Site Material Specialists are expected to re-locate to the project site for the duration of each construction project they are assigned to
