Reports to: IT Manager – Product Delivery & Development

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or related degree; or combination of related work experience and education.

Experience: 5 or more years of experience working as a Release Train Engineer, Change Manager, Product Owner or related field and 5 or more years of Agile methodology and transformation experience. Previous experience in management, facilitation, product delivery teams and executive leadership required.  Position requires an understanding of Azure DevOps, JIRA, Microsoft TFS, Version One or comparable storyboard technologies.

Position Summary:  As a Release Train Engineer you will be responsible for helping create and support the strategic vision for several Agile Delivery Teams.  You will champion the release process/cadence including emergency releases, signoff, test signoff/requirements while creating Enterprise roadmaps with partnership from leadership and Product Owners.

This position will develop a relationship with the Product Owners of these Teams using an Agile mindset to help bring about digital transformation.

As a servant leader, you will work with a wide range of Agile Delivery Teams and their Products to ensure the highest levels of communication and transparency.  You will help ensure timely roll-out of features by facilitating multi-day PI Planning events on a quarterly basis.  These Features in turn will be broken down into stories at the Team level and working closely with the Product Owners, stakeholders and business lines, you’ll help ensure they’re driven to completion.  The position requires strong collaboration, communication, impediment escalation and asking “why?”.   You will have a strong desire to bring real world solutions to business needs, using some of the latest industry technologies that enhance the end users experience.  You will also work closely with Change Management to align the worlds of business and technology.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Helps strategically shape the Blattner Company’s Agile Transformation and products
  2. Regularly collaborates with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, business end users, and subject matter experts to identify needed product enhancements, deficiencies, hurdles and challenges faced.
  3. Builds out and maintains high level roadmaps and incorporate them into PI Planning.
  4. Plans, coordinates and facilitates PI Planning events on a quarterly basis.
  5. Develops, coordinates, and ensures successful execution of product release/launch plan.
  6. Works with various members of IT to ensure a smooth Change Request process.
  7. Aligns with Architecture Review Committee (ARC) and IT Steering Committee.
  8. Manages and coach’s IT employees

Additional Job Functions

  1. Helps manage risks and dependencies.
  2. Escalates and tracks impediments.
  3. Provides input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  4. Supports and upholds the information security goals of the company.
  5. Occasional travel will be required for job site and business knowledge requirement gathering.
  6. To minimize impact to the business some weekend hours maybe required during product rollouts.
