Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or other related field.

Experience: 3-5 years of related experience in Business System Analysis.

Position Summary: Supports Blattner’s Company’s portfolio of business systems, including management of recurring system related tasks, as well as analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation of simple to moderately complex solutions.  This will be done by using superb analytical skills to understand the capabilities of the business system, company processes, and current system setup.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Analyzes, recommends, designs, configures, tests, and implements simple to moderately complex new functional and break/fix solutions for assigned products (e.g. HCM, recruiting, payroll, benefits, compensation), leveraging an agile methodology.
  2. Provides a strategic and operational focus on HR and Payroll systems by initiating and supporting business process improvements and efficiencies/LEAN related to the business system. Utilizes the business system to eliminate administrative tasks, improve functionality, empower employees to ensure teams are utilizing the business system to the greatest extent possible.  
  3. Serves as a subject matter expert for system related issues including researching and resolving business system problems, unexpected results or process flaws; and provides solutions to meet requirements.  Works with Delivery Team and business users to modify the system or existing business processes as needed.
  4. Assists in the implementation of new technologies and systems.
  5. Responsible for testing requirements in the system and final sign-off.
  6. Works with external vendors and service providers to insure the efficient, accurate and timely exchange of information; qualifies potential vendors for abilities to meet business needs.
  7. Stays informed on future releases, functionalities of new releases and enhancements.  Apply necessary changes to the business system.
  8. Collaborates with Delivery Team members using an Agile mindset where work is broken into smaller “chunk” stories, prioritized, and delivered in a consistent 2-week Sprint cadence using Agile ceremonies.  Will work closely with the Product Owner in this capacity to ensure substance of stories align with business area needs.

Additional Functions

  1. Performs other duties per supervisor’s discretion.
  2. Identifies opportunities for streamlining work and reducing waste in order to improve efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to translate business discussions and processes into clear, concise, specific technical requirements and deliverables. 
  • Ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to build and manage working relationships at all levels and be able to build consensus and achieve results even when not directly accountable.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively across a complex, matrixed corporate organization.
  • Knows how to set plans and execute with a sense of urgency to achieve business results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), SQL Management Studio experience a plus.
