Education Requirements: A 4-year degree in Business Administration, Construction, Training and Development or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience: 2+ years of experience, which includes facilitating or training on lean tools and concepts, or equivalent continuous improvement experience.


Position Summary:  Identifies lean initiative opportunities and facilitates training for various programs to support project sites. Responsible for training, coaching, and implementing the lean tools (Gemba walks, problem solving, 5S, front line management, Lean Assessments, kaizens, etc.).   

Essential Job Functions

  1. Visits assigned Solar and Wind project sites to facilitate problem-solving events, Gemba Walks and Lean Assessment tools. Will be responsible for 4-5 assigned job sites.
  2. Coaches and supports the frontline management system on each project as it relates to continuous improvement efforts.
  3. Coaches and supports the Lean Advocate on each project.
  4. Participates in Kaizen events and shares trends and action items.
  5. Facilitates 5S events on assigned projects.
  6. Coordinates with the other Continuous Improvement teams to set up a monthly Lean Advocate group call and streamline new and lean workflows to facilitate to project sites.
  7. Attends monthly Continuous Improvement group call with direct supervisor to discuss schedules, road map, goals, targets, opportunities, and where support is needed.
  8. Supports and helps develop Blattner’s lean advantage program.

Additional Job Functions

  1. Identifies opportunities for streamlining work and reducing waste in order to improve efficiency.
  2. Mentors and guides field leadership with continuous improvement initiatives.
  3. Perform other duties per supervisor’s discretion.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to facilitate training sessions at all levels within the company with strong and effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to relate to a wide variety of learning and personality styles.
  • Effective oral, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of business processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
  • Possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive travel required.
  • Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
