WHO IS AN ENGINEER I WITH BLATTNER?

As an Engineer I with Blattner you will be working with a variety of different internal departments and 3rd party engineering firms to support the project design from start to finish.

You will be responsible for aligning construction teams and ensuring they have all the necessary design information, quantities, and specifications to build the projects. You will be performing drawing, study and specification reviews and providing your comments to the Project Engineering Supervisor. To best serve this role, you will be traveling to jobsites and participate in the design reviews and ensuring that the construction activities are following project drawings and specifications as well as checking site teams red lines are complete and accurate.

Are you analytical and detail oriented?

  • You will be performing economic analysis/value engineering to determine cost effective solutions and prepare written recommendations.
  • Ensure takeoffs are complete and accurate for material procurement.
  • You will partner with the Estimating  Engineer in preliminary design work to support developing project estimates and review owner provided RFP documents/drawing and prepare RFP’s to send to engineering firms.

 

Do you like to travel?

  • In this role you will have the opportunity to travel to various locations across the US (up to 50%).

 

Position Minimum Requirements:

  1. A 4-year engineering degree in electrical, civil, mechanical or similar, and at minimum, holds or in pursuit of an Engineer-In-Training certificate, in order to pursue the Professional Engineering certification.
  2. 1-2 years of relevant experience in construction or technical fields is preferred but not required. 
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across a complex, matrixed corporate organization.
  5. Willing to travel (up to 50%).
  6. Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.

 

*This is a Salary/Exempt level role that reports to the Project Engineering Supervisor, Estimating Engineer
